Non-Communicable Disease Control Implementation Strategic Framework

A Provincial Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases and Health Promotion to be implemented across 36 districts of Punjab was developed. The framework encompassed the four major NCDs i.e. cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and chronic respiratory diseases. Technical support was provided for adaptation of WHO PEN (Package of Essential Non-communicable Disease Interventions) and development of five-year strategic plan for Punjab, Pakistan. The plan was aligned to the global NCD indicators and contextualized to the provincial burden of NCDs and the program activities.
