Pakistan Power Delegation Attending the Generation Equality Forum 2021 Paris

Generation Equality Forum (GEF) marks 25 years since the 1995 Beijing UN Conference for Women. It is the largest women’s gathering in over 25 years, with 200+ members from the Women in Global Health Chapters alone.

To voice the need for gender-transformative action for health and care workforce, WGHPakistan has put together a country power delegation of Fourteen Dynamic Women Leaders who are moving, shaking and shaping the health sector space for Pakistan. In addition to the multiple events under the Generation Equality Forum, this delegation is participating in the High-level event ‘Achieving gender-transformative policy action’ on July 1st at 7:10-8:10 PM Pakistan Time. This is part of the Gender Equal Health and Care Workforce Initiative (GEHCWI), and is being organized by the World Health Organization and the Women in Global Health. This forum aims to increase visibility, dialogue, and commitment to action on gender equity in the health and care workforce alongside the UN Women Generation Equality Campaign to accelerate gender equality and mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

Each of these women are recognized as a role model, a shaper, an igniter and a motivator. Their contributions have hugely benefitted the country and are changing the landscape of health sector, making it more conducive, enabling and empowering for women.
